National Conference of PhD Students in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure

On 23 May 2025, the Faculty of Law, Babeș-Bolyai University, hosted a new edition of the traditional National Conference of PhD Students in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.

The sessions were moderated by professors of the Faculty of Law in Cluj: Professor Florin Streteanu, Professor Sergiu Bogdan, Senior Lecturer Ioana Curt, and Senior Lecturer Lucian Criste.

Among the papers presented, the following stood out: The offence of money laundering – problematic hypotheses analysed in the judicial practice of German courts (Laurențiu-Vasile Negrean, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca);
Inconsistencies between bail applicable to legal persons and bail applicable to natural persons – national, European, and North American perspectives (Adrian Coșa, West University of Timișoara);
Interpretation and (re)definition of the offence of acts against the constitutional order. Towards a French model? (Ionuț-Daniel Vîlceanu, University of Bucharest);
Limitation of criminal liability: the perspective of the CJEU vs. the perspective of Romanian courts (Oana Lavinia Dumitrescu Lup, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca).

As per usual, the best papers will be published in the Faculty’s journal, Caiete de Drept Penal.
